Pearls ofJoy

Frivolous follies murmur away,
To the blue and glowing days,
That count the countless glees,
Of ruddy cheeks and scraped knees...

Frame the freckled faces,
And laugh the lilacs out,
That bud in the creased up wealth,
Of summer’s miraculous mirth...

In each day we kindle memories,
And tear down silky draperies,
Off the deep of heaven,
To gather pearls of joy...
